Last week we looked at animation created over the years.

The Magic Lantern:The first animation was the magic lantern in 1671. Produced with an oil lamp and a lens, images were painted onto a glass plate and projected onto a screen.

The Thaumatrope:The thaumatrope was next in 1824. A picture was put onto either side of a piece of card attached to a peice of string and twirled around quickly to make the images appear as one.

The Zoetrope: A zoetrope is made into motion with a series of still pictures moving in quick succession first documented in 1834.

The Praxinoscope: The praxinoscope came in 1877 as the succesor to the zoetrope. it is a strip of images placed inside a spinning cylinder.

The Flip Book:The flip book eventually arrived in 1868, and is a series of pictures changing steadily from one page to the next.

Stop Motion:Stop motion is the general term for an animation technique which makes still objects appear to move, using individual photographs.

CGI:CGI (computer generated imagery) is animation created and produced using computer technology. This is also used for special effects in movies and television shows.

Rotoscoping:An animation technique where animators trace over real film movements, frame by frame, to produce an animated peice.

Yahoo!

   Google
I am comparing 4 search engines

Google is one of the websites that allows you to change the layout of its home page to suite your personal tastes.  For example, if you travel alot a special search menu for bus timetables can be set as the home page, making it easier to search your times.

The BBC also allows you to do this. So for example, if you liked the news, it could be first on your homepage making all the breaking news easily accessible. It allows you to do this for a wide variety of things from the weather, childrens t.v to food.

Yahoo! allows you to

Flickr vs. photo bucket

this is a picture of my podcast in garageband

Flickr
Flickr is easy to find specific photos you can share  and stay in touch, upload, organize, crop, fix and edit aswell as just finding Photos. You can also look for videos. Has more basic layout and easier to understand. Flickr's aim is to help people make their content available to the people who matter to them. Unlike photobucket, Flickr is a social networking site aswell. Flickr also focus on enabling new ways of organizing photos and video.

Photobucket
Photobucket is the premier site on the Internet for uploading, sharing, linking and finding photos, videos and graphics. Photobucket offers sharing of photos, videos, and albums by email, IM, and mobile phone. Friends and family don't need an account on Photobucket to see your stuff. They just need to click the link you give them. So stop emailing photo attachments around, and start sharing with Photobucket. Also a scrapbook builder to build online and printed scrapbooks by simply dragging and dropping into one of hundreds of pre-built scrapbook designs that you can share online or print into beautiful books.
